Ecotourism is defined by the International Ecotourism Society as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people." (TIES, 1990). Take a trip, breathe in the fresh air, experience and respect the natural world...

Canoeing down the river in Vietnam.

Tiffany hiked to see The Three Sisters, a rock formation in New South Wales, Australia. A common legend tells that three sisters of the Katoomba tribe fell in love with three men from a neighboring tribe. Since marriage was forbidden due to tribal law, the men decided to kidnap the sisters. A battle began between the tribes and an elder turned the sisters into stone to stop the men from succeeding their mission. The elder died in battle and therefore no one else could transform the sisters back to their original forms. Till this day, the women lay stuck on the ridge of a mountain.

A bed of ferns in Mendocino Forest. Beautiful!

Charred tree in Mendocino Forest, site of the world's recorded tallest tree! I was told that the tree is not spotlit because as a landmark, it saves the forest from those who would get rid of it.

Jamestown, Virginia— birthplace of the U.S. of A. If we're not careful, we not only lose beauty but also our history.

Sometimes, one can see to the ocean or even Catalina Islands. Usually though, smog prevents any views. Respect your environment, it's got tons to offer!

Great Falls Park between Virginia and Maryland, close to Washington, D.C. Magical.

Make sure you leave as you came. Bring what you need, and don't litter. Let others enjoy what you have.

Support your local and national parks (70 state parks in California were slated to close by July 2012, and 65 have been given temporary reprieve)! This is just a random snapshot of a tree in Shenandoah Park of Virginia.

Little wonders are aplenty all around you! Look at these beautiful, vibrant wildflowers on the Mt. Wilson trail.

On the Cambremer cider route in Normadie, France, people drive from one cider house to another. But if they took a walk instead, they'd notice the beautiful countryside around them. After all, aren't we here to relax?

Imagine this butterfly landing on a flower or leaf instead of greenish pavement by a beach near KenTing National Park of Taiwan. Too many hotels, restaurants, and comforts can irrevocably destroy the beautiful world around us.

Smack dab in Los Angeles, Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook is a great example of why ecotourism is needed! In often smoggy LA, one rarely is afforded such views of Downtown, the mountains, and the ocean... reduce your impact and respect the environment around you.

Notice though articles lay on the peak, no food waste is present! Make sure to take your trash with you, and bring ziplock bags to hold them to contain the scent! Atop Victoria Peak of the San Gabriel Mountains.

High atop, in the outskirts where you may only encounter a few hikers on the way... magnificent views await you. Ontario Peak from Saddle Point of Icehouse Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains by Los Angeles.

Beaches by Paimport on the peninsula. Get out of town, and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. Leave the cars, and enjoy the walk.

Northwestern France, check out Paimport's peninsulas. Just stroll on from town and 30 minutes later, you'll find yourself in the woods! Make sure to dispose of trash properly!

Ice Canyon to Saddle Point trail. What beautiful waters and trees just in the San Gabriel Mountains by Los Angeles.

The views!

Exploring the falls!

The wildlife in this area was so fun to see. Deer, birds, even bears!

Breathtaking! Yosemite is just unbelievably magnificent from every angle!
