22 July 2012: Art Collector Herbert Vogel Dies At 89. As art collectors, Herbert and Dorothy Vogel amassed over 5,000 works despite a modest income. They were among the earliest collectors who championed minimal and conceptual art in the 1960s. Pieces from the Vogel's collection have been distributed to museums throughout the nation.
