London Summer Olympics 2012 is right around the corner. This collection is made up of some of the notable male athletes swimming in this summer event. The Swimming competition will take place over eight days between July 28th and August 4th. All entries for Swimming will be confirmed following the sport entries deadline on July 9, 2012. Here is how the men will qualify: A total of 56 swimmers (not including open water swimmers) will be chosen for the 2012 Summer Olympics. To make the Olympic team, a swimmer must place in the top two in an individual event. Also, to be considered in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter freestyle relay, a swimmer must place in the top six in the 100 and 200 meter freestyle.. I'm getting excited!.. can't wait! Nathan Adrian won 3 medals at this year's Olympics! Go Bears!

USA athletes Matt Grevers struck gold when he earned top honors in the 100M Backstroke with a time of 52.16 seconds – a new Olympic record, according to the USA Today and Missy Franklin won gold in the 100M and 200M backstroke for which the latter shattered the world record by .75 seconds with a time of 2:04.06.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Nathan Adrian, USA won gold in both the 100-meter freestyle and the 4x100-meter medley relay, and silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Did you know he is Amerasian.. his mother is Chinese born in Hong Kong and father is American.

U.S. Men's Swimming Team Wins Silver in 4x100m Freestyle Relay Final

Ryan Lochte has already earned a gold for the US as swimming continues this week in London.

Joseph Roebuck (Britain, 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley and the 400m individual medley). At the 2012 British Championships Roebuck won the silver medal in the 400m individual medley. He went on to win gold medals in the 200 metres butterfly and 200 metres individual medley, earning himself Olympic qualification for both events.

David Davies (Britain, 1500m freestyle). As of the end of 2010, he held the British Records in the 400, 800 and 1500 freestyles.

Liam Tancock (Britain, 100m backstroke). He holds the world record in the 50m backstroke, has become a 3-time world champion and a 5-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist. He competed in the Olympic Games in 2008 but did not earn a medal.

Nick D'Arcy (Australia, 200m butterfly). He set the fastest time in 2012: 1.54.71—set at the Australian Olympic Trials. Yes, you read it correctly—someone other than America's Michael Phelps could win the 200m butterfly at the London Olympics.

Christopher Wright (Australia, 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly). He hold the fastest time in 2012: 51.67 for 100m, 1.56.40 for 200m—both set at Australian Olympic trials.

Eamon Sullivan, (Australia, 50m freestyle). Leading off Australia in the Men's 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay final he set a new world record for the 100m Freestyle with a time of 47.24 seconds, collecting bronze. In December, at the Australian National Championships he broke the 50m national record in 22.00 s and became the fastest swimmer Australia had ever seen.

Alexander Meyer (USA, 10km open water). He won a gold medal at the 2010 World Championships in the 25-kilometer open water event.

Tyler McGill (USA, 100m butterfly). He will be swimming next to Phelps in the London Olympics. At the 2011 World Aquatics Championships, McGill won a bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly, finishing behind Michael Phelps and Konrad Czerniak. McGill won a gold team medal in the 4×100m medley relay. At the 2012 US Olympic Trials, McGill placed 2nd in the 100m butterfly event, just behind Michael Phelps and just ahead of Ryan Lochte.

Eric Shanteau (USA, 100m breaststroke), he won 2 gold medals as a member of winning United States relay teams at the World Championships.

Tyler Clary (USA, 200m backstroke and 200-meter butterfly), he has won a total of 10 medals in major international competition, 7-silver, and 3-bronze spanning the World Championships, the Pan Pacific Championships, and the Pan American Games. Clary will be swimming with Phelps in London.

Nick Thoman (USA, 100m backstroke), he has won 2 medals as a member of winning United States medley relay teams at the World Championships. He currently holds the world record in the 100m backstroke (short course). He's won a total of 6 medals in major international competition, 2-gold, 1-silver, and 3-bronze spanning the World Championships, the Pan Pacific Championships, and Summer Universiade. Matthew Grevers (USA, 100m backstroke and 4x100m freestyle relay ), he has won a total of 13 medals in major international competition, 5-gold, 5-silver, and 3-bronze spanning the Olympics, World Championships, and the Universiade. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won a gold medal as a part of the 4×100m freestyle and medley relay, and a silver medal in the 100m backstroke, finishing behind Aaron Peirsol.

Conor Dwyer (USA, 400m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay). He won a gold medal as a member of 4x200m freestyle relay team at the 2011 World Championships, and is also a 4-time medalist at the Pan American Games.

Ricky Berens (USA 200m freestyle), he is an Olympic gold medalist, Beijing 2008. As part of the American team, he holds the world record in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay (long course).

Michael Phelps is back for the 2012 Olympics. Watch out fellow swimmers.

Ryan Cochrane, Canadian Swimming: He's the best bets for a podium appearance among Canadian swimmers. The 23-year-old from Victoria, who won bronze in the 1,500-metre freestyle four years ago, will compete in the 1,500 and 400-metre freestyle events in London. Cochrane holds national records at both distances.

Kosuke Kitajima (Japanese -breaststroke) He received four gold medals and two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke in 2004 and 2008 Olympics.

Christian Sprenger (Australia -breaststroke) He won the Final of the Men's 50m Breatstroke of the Australian Olympic trails '12.

Brenton Rickard (Australia -breastroke) He has multiple Olympic and World Championship medals, as well as World and Commonwealth records that includes a gold medal and world record at FINA World Championships 2009 in Rome.

Ryo Tateishi (Japan -breaststroke) He won the gold medal in the Men's 100m breaststroke at the Japan Open '10. He also won 50m breaststroke at the 2009 East Asian Games.

Cameron van der Burgh (South Africa -breaststroke) World Championship bronze medal 2007.He won the 50m breaststroke at the '10 Commonwealth Games in a new games record and the 100m world title at the 2010 short course world championships.

Felipe Silva (Brazil -backstroke) He won the gold metal in 50m breaststroke at the FINA World World Masters Championships 2011.

Fabio Scozzoli (Italy -backstroke) He holds a silver medal for the Men's 100m breaststroke final at the Shanghai 2011 FINA Short Course Swimming World Championship.

Brendan Hansen (U.S. - backstroke) He is a 4-time (2-gold, 1-silver, 1-bronze) Olympic medalist. He is a former world record holder in both the 100 and 200m breaststroke (long course).

Daniel Arnamnart (Australia-backstroke) Olympic debut in London aged 22. Arnamnart has qualified in the 100m backstroke after finishing second to Hayden Stoeckel in a time of 54.05 seconds.

Ryan medals (U.S. -freestyle) knocked on the 15 minute barrier last year for the 1500m freestyle in '11 Shanghai's qualifying event..

Andrew Gemmell (U.S. - freestyle) Has good depth with knocking on the 15 minute barrier last year for the 1500m freestyle in '11 Shanghai's qualifying event.

Hao Yun (China - freestyle) Yang bettered his top ranked time with a 3:42.31 with his win at the Chinese Olympic Trials.

Daniel Fogg (Britain -freestyle) British Champion in the 1500m freestyle. 1st place at the L.E.N. Cup 1st round, Eilat (Israel), May '10 in the 10k Open Water race.
